I like the orginal ornament in concept, but being in lockdown I've got more time than I need to give it a little bit better treatment, and it needed some of those recognizable covid spikes.
The model size is pretty large so I ended up scaling it down to 8.5% in Cura, which puts it at about a 4" diameter. I'll let you be the judge for how big you want to print this.
While originally ridiculous in concept, please take it seriously. Wear a mask, stay safe, and have a happy remote Zoomsmas.
Being in lockdown any more and I might add actual toilet paper texture to the roll, and an alternate 2-color design where the lettering can be printed in a separate color, and pushed through. We'll see....
-V2- Made the hole larger for hanging string through.
**After scaling to 8.5% in Cura, I had to increase the infill to 30% so the toilet paper roll had enough inside support to rest on, otherwise a little hole was visible in the center.
-V3- Added a thicker version of the ornament so the 3D relief is more pronounced for the TP and covid spikes. I enjoy this thicker version and it is the final version for my holiday gifts I'm printing. I suggest printing the the thick version, at 30% infill the final weight is 31g.
-V4- So I guess I had a non-manifold part of geometry on the toilet paper that might have given errors for certain slicers, this should be resolved with the file: ornament2020_clean_v4.stl.
