Lots of measurements from reference photos to get the size and proportions correct.
The finished photo was after a ton of sanding followed by painting (Rustoleum). I used Milliput for the fake welds and then painted the milliput silver with a tiny brush and model paint.
The tabs are for alignment with the inside dome structure I made.
