There were 4 of these behemoths in service between 1920 and 1935: 3 Erie RR 2-8-8-8-2s and 1 Virginian RR 2-8-8-8-4. If you look for these in a museum you won't find them: they were all scrapped. Thanks to the traction generated by their 24 driver wheels, they boasted an incredible 9000 horsepower (the most of any steam locomotive ever) , but they were very slow, rarely surpassing 15mph (24kph). Thanks to the magic of 3d modeling, we can get a look at one of these behemoths. I used modified cladding, roofing, fencing and blinds textures to simulate the paneling on the boxcars.
