14021 - Plant Water Services Pump Station Mobile Access Equipment

The mobile access equipment was designed to provide maintenance personnel access to the suction pipes inside the plant water services dam after de watering at the Rio Tinto Weipa site in Far North Queensland Australia.
The design utilised aluminium to provide a light weight structure that could be easily transported to the remote location of the dam. To protect the rubber lined dam from being damaged during installation and operation, the main A-frame was provided with a circular hollow section as the main bearing member on the rubber lining.
Chain Stays were used to allow adjustment and levelling of the platform in the field to suit different angles of the dam walls.
