The Barn was built in Calhoun GA c. 1800 and moved to its current location in the 1960's. The barn is constructed of square-hewn timbers, keyed to provide added structural stability. The fact it still stands is a tribute to the know-how and workmanship of the 'old days.' Many similar barns and cabins can be still be found intact to one extent or another throughout the Georgia country side. The bam includes stables for horses and cows, a hay loft for storing fodder, and storage spaces for tools, equipment, grain, and supplies. The barn also contains a cotton gin. If you zoom in closely, you may even see through the open barn doors an old horse-drawn buggy. #33485539N #84_83960W #Antebellum_Plantation #Stone_Mountain_Memorial_Park
