I had been shooting some 127 size negatives, and found that when I wanted to scan the images I did not have a negative carrier for this size. I use an Epson 4990, which came with a 120 size negative holder. The 127 could be "sort of" clipped in to this holder, but was far from optimum. The negative, if it had any curl, would not sit properly in the holder.
The goal here was to make an adapter that would drop into the window of the 120 carrier, but would securely hold the narrower 127 film in place at the right height above the glass.
There are two pieces, a lower part which drops into the opening of the 120 holder and sits on the glass. After positioning the negative, the top part is placed on the negative and the snap down cover on the existing holder then clamps the top piece by using the small tabs. The photos show:
1) the 127 negative in the 120 carrier... no adapter.
2) the bottom adapter in place with the 127 negative on top
3) the top in place with the cover shut
In this way, I didn't have to print an entire large negative carrier, just adapt the one I have now. They print quickly, about 1/2 hour, and do the job great
Enjoy!
