This is a kit for making 3d printed chains. I've included 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm radius chains. Each file has a circle of links, which allows you to create files with any length of chain. Lay each link so it is offset by 90 degrees from its neighbors and doesn't intersect other links. Once they're printed, they will come off the printer as an articulating chain.
You'll need 123D Design to edit the .123dx files. You can also edit the .stl files with your favorite program.
These chains do not require supports to print properly.
I've provided printable examples of each chain size and type. The files have "example" in the title.
I got the idea for this kit while designing a dog waste bag holder and used waste bag clip:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1702765
V2: I changed the .STL and .123dx so the objects are all at the printing plane. They will print properly directly from the files, now.
I added a 4MM to 2mm reduction link in .123dx and .STL files.
V3: I added 10MM files and example.
V4: I added a 10MM Ziplink. This is a chain link that prints in two interlocking parts that are held together with a Ziptie. It's used for connecting Chain links together, or to other objects.
