12' drum thickness sander with manual infeed belt

This is an enhancement to the long out-feed drum sander I published earlier. Components are grouped into named layers, including a hardware layer for the components that aren't plywood. I've added the online description to components for the hardware I sourced while designing this. The recommended plywood is 19mm Baltic Birch. The used furnace motor for my build is 7.5' high. Extend the bottom of the table supports to accommodate a higher motor. Getting the sanding drum shaft perfectly centered is critical. My approach is to create the end caps on a router table. Use 1 1/2' of the drum shaft to create a router template board, drill your center hole in a slightly oversize end cap and trim to size on the template board with a straight bit. You will want 1 drum for each sanding grit you plan to use. Lee Valley sells PSA 2' sandpaper rolls that are ideal for the PVC drums. Added concealed leveller for sanding drum alignment.
