This Meepleverse set includes everything you need to run the "Death in the Fimbulpeaks" adventure module for our free Polymodular Fantasy Roleplaying rules.
Our Meepleverse Kickstarter was a huge success, and to celebrate the season, we're doing a special set that we'll release over the next 12 days. Throw a watch on this space and check in each day for new pieces. (I'll keep a "WIP" tag on this thing until all the parts are included.)
On the first day of Meepmas... (we've got ice/snow tiles, with a spoooky cave entrance.)
On a lonely mountainside, far in the northern reaches sits the mouth of a forgotten cave, yawning in the waning twilight and enticing those who would dare to enter the dark, icy domain within.
On the second day of Meepmas... (we've got our first player character meeple.)
A party of adventurers approaches the cave. Their bodies weary from the treacherous climb, they are nevertheless propelled by some grim determination. First to reach the cavern's mouth is Odrik Dayn. Rejected by both his elvish and human ancestries, life in exile has hardened Odrik, a fortuitous preparation for the path he now treads.
On the third day of Meepmas... ( it's our second player character meeple.)
Next to the cave was Baphira, thrice-cursed knight of the Holy Order of The High Exalt. On a quest of redemption, she fights to prove that her faith holds greater power over the sulfurous taint of her demonic lineage.
On the fourth day of Meepmas... ( it's our third player character meeple.)
Third up the frozen slope was Xanruk, orc-blooded terror of the southern underworld. Betrayed by an employer and left for dead, Xanruk beheld a vision of a radiant goddess guiding his bloodied hand toward glory and the greater good. With only his heavy dagger of chiseled obsidian, he left the sweltering heat of the southern slums for the biting winds of the far north, guided in dreams toward some unknown purpose.
On the fifth day of Meepmas... ( it's our fourth and final player character meeple.)
Last to the cave was Arlette, half-mortal princess of the Fey Courts. Left in the mortal realms when her folk retreated into the Otherworld for fear of human iron, she searches for a way home. Having found a band of outcasts with whom she feels a sense of kinship, she watches over these misfits, protecting them with powerful spells of illusion.
On the sixth day of Meepmas... ( it's just some piles of snow. But hey! They could also be rocks!)
Pushing past piles of unbroken snow, the party takes their first steps into the cave.
On the seventh day of Meepmas... ( we've got some icy, or stony if you print in grey or brown, stalagmites!)
As the party pushes on into the cave, Odrik spies some sharp spikes of ice hidden beneath uncleared snow, saving Baphira from a clumsy and untimely demise.
On the eighth day of Meepmas... ( icicle zombies!)
As they wind through the icy tunnels, the party is ambushed by the frozen dead. The corpses of adventurers whose quest ended in this fell place, some dark magic gives them animus to strike in spite at those who might succeed where they once failed.
On the ninth day of Meepmas... ( we've got some ice pillars and passageway tiles.)
The undead horrors defeated, the party soon finds the entrance to a vast cavern dotted with pillars of jagged ice. A great shaft above them opens to the mountaintop and the soft glow of starlight.
On the tenth day of Meepmas... ( a mysterious idol trapped in ice appears!)
Across the vaulted cavern, trapped in a prison of ice stood an idol to Xitulca, long forgotten goddess of time and death.
On the eleventh day of Meepmas... (it's the frost dragon, guardian of the ice caves.)
As they approach the curious idol, a great blast of wind fills the cavern. The party scatters, taking cover behind pillars of ice as an enormous white dragon, guardian of this accursed place, swoops down from the shaft leading skyward.
On the twelth day of Meepmas... (a box to keep all this stuff that doubles as a terrain piece, plus an adventure module!)
Fighting for their lives, the party fled into the mountaintops above, and the accursed frost dragon, Rimetongue, gave chase.
If you missed the Kickstarter, don't worry- there are plenty of freebies in this collection, plus we'll be releasing the sets to our storefront soon. For those of you thinking about supporting us on Patreon, our patrons get special access to our entire back catalog, including the Meepleverse stuff (not to mention license options to sell printed versions of our designs).
Happy holidays!
