kcmj made a great siren. Tolerances were good. The parts fit together well. My dogs and cats became friends after I printed it. Life was good...
...until I went to the parts bin...
DUN DUN DUUUUN!!! I didn't have a motor that fit!
What's a guy with Fusion 360, some calipers, a 3D printer, and an angry wife to do?
REVERSE ENGINEER IT!!!
I don't have any specs for the motors in my drawer, so I'm including the source file so it can be modified.
Pics of the real thing and a video demonstration demonstrating the demonstrable awesomeness to follow.
3-3-18: Motor Mount V2 posted. I normally try to design things that will print without support, but I wanted to make assembly a little less fiddly, so I added a stop to the motor mount. I also renamed the files.
3-10-18: In testing the fan kept unscrewing itself at high RPM to hilarious effect. Nothing quite so funny as seeing a 3D printed air raid siren skittering down the street at breakneck speed spewing bits of itself in every direction as it rapidly self destructs. To combat this I created a fan with a clockwise rotation. I'll post an update in a few hours after a reprint the entire thing in PETG.
