Made of alluminum, this is Utah Emergency Relief Tax Token used back when sales tax was instated in 1933 at 3/4%.

A 3/4% sales tax meant that most sales were rounded up to the nearest penny. The people of Utah were being screwed and didn’t like it so the State adopoted these “mills” to help pay the fraction.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, for a purchase of $2.65, the tax would be 5 cents and 3 mills.

This model is smaller than a US Dime.

Modeled with 3Dflow’s 3DF Zephyr and is severely reduced.
