Armament of Breguet 19

Three types of tourelles were used on the Breguet 19. All of these used a two-part freely-rotating aluminum nring assembly mounted on a fixed circular wooden base ring. The gun, or guns, were mounted upon a U-shaped yoke that allowed the gun(s) to be elevated with the assistance of Sandow cords.

Possibly the most common version of the tourelle seen on early production Breguets was the TO-Ibis type. On this, the trunnions (or pivots) were located on top of distinctively-shaped brackets. A latching arrangement allowed the yoke to be locked in a series of
elevated positions.
