CREATIVE AND MODULAR DESIGN

The idea behind this design is to provide a modular solution that can simultaneously be as compact as possible, besides meeting the requirements imposed. The design comes in two flavors: a COMPACT MODEL and a COMPLETE MODEL (with magnetic card reader).
The body of the device consists of two parts: the first consisting of the wall bracket; and the second corresponding to the device´s body, where the electronic components (circuit board, contactless antenna, speaker), the keyboard and the LED display are housed.
Once the two sides have been coupled by the recommended screws, an aluminum housing that covers the entire device is used. The housing is subdivided into two parts, which are introduced from the top and bottom part respectively, sliding through the grooves made in the body. First the upper housing slides down, fixing it from both sides by screws. Then it slides up the lower housing, which cover the screws of the upper housing by a tab, obtaining a hermetic design. Finally, the lower housing is secured from below by 3 countersunk screws, preferably with TORX head.

In case of using the complete model with magnetic card reader, a USB adapter should be placed in the specific slot located on the right side of the body, which could be coupled directly to the board or by another data bus. The body of the card reader is also divided in two parts and requires a modified housing. The upper part contains the magnetic card reader and the USB connection, and the lower part acts only as a continuation of the card slot.

FEATURES

- Slightly inclined screen for easy reading.
- Antenna on the left side to take contactless credentials.
- LED backlit keypad with brail overlay. The LEDs of the keypad acts as a the “Power” LED. *Also, in the complete model, the arrow of the magnet card reader is also illuminated.
- Opening in the bottom of the housing for the sound output of the speaker, located inside the body.
- Display with messages "Access denied" and "Access Granted" illuminated by LEDs, protected by a tempered glass panel.

CONSIDERATIONS

- The wall mount leaves a central space for the passage of the corresponding wiring, such as RJ45 or similar network cables, power cable, etc. If this space is not necessary, it could be suppressed during the manufacturing of the piece.
- Only the most complete models with and without magnetic card reader are contemplated. However, more combinations can be made depending on the needs as: removing the left opening in the aluminum housing to remove the contactless reader, modify the housing to fully cover the front side (except the display) to avoid the use to keypad, etc.
- Although the device should be able to withstand it´s use in outdoor environments with sealing measures, the aluminum housing could be modified increasing its length and suppressing the upper chamfer, covering more effectively the display.

REGARGIND THE FILES

- Standar components that are specified in the assembly drawings are not included in the IGES files.
- Electronic components such as the speaker, the LED panel, the contactless antenna… have not been designed since no concrete components were specified. Nevertheless, enough space has been left inside the body to accommodate them.
- The body has enough space to hold the circuit board, although no internal anchors have been designed due to the lack of specific details of the board.
- The USB adapter does not incorporate internal anchors as may be connected directly to an extension of the board or by a data bus. On the other hand, a USB port has been chosen due to its relatively compact size and for being able to send both power and data, although other ports could be valid.
- An IGES file of each component is provided, as well as the Complete and Compact models fully assembled (without the standard components).
