I will be improving the airbag because of its lack of awareness. The biggest weakness of the airbag is that it releases the nitrogen gas at the same pressure every time. Most people would think that is a great part of the airbag because it is consistent. In my opinion it is a problem because it doesn’t take in to count the person driving; what if the person is really close to the steering wheel the airbag impact could kill them. My design would improve the air bag because it would allow the air bag to customize to the driver, allowing the nitrogen in the air bag to release differently based on weigh and height. It would improve because the air bag would be more suitable for the driver, so less people would be injured or seriously hurt from too much force of the air bag. By having a sense or reader in by the inflator or the tank of nitrogen, could calculate the weight of the person to, if they were to crash, the air bag you release with just the right amount of nitrogen gas so the person would not be injured from the impact of the collision.
