The iAMP is a small amp that attaches to the bottom of your iPhone and boosts your headphones. It is relatively small device, about 50 mm x 15 mm x 6mm.

Powered by the iPhone battery, the amp connects to the headphone jack using a 3.5 mm connector. You then plugs in their own headphones to the 3.5 mm jack and enjoys a nice boost in the quality of music. This is especially handy if you are listening to higher quality files music formats, like FLAC or other lossless, or you need more power if you have higher quality, more expensive headphones.

The "volume control" buttons increase or decrease the boost power on the headphones by increasing or deceasing the dB of the sound input. The switch is a bass boost feature that increases the dB of the lower frequencies, increasing the bass in the headphones. When it is on, the LED turns green, and turns red if off.

Got the idea when I my friend showed me one of these a few years ago: http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-e5-E5-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B001P9EQH8. The amp is very small and operates on a tiny lithium battery, but I tried it and it really improves the quality of the music.

More renderings to come!

I am also going to design a case that works with this amp so consumers can still protect their $800 phone.
