Design Of the brick assembly is as per the requirement of GE
The assembly created is detachable/ (not fixed), we can easily detach the brick whenever required.
Although, in this design this is presumed that the dismantling of assembly is not often, so the fixtures are designed quite rigid retaining “Interference fit” in assembly. There is a 2 Degree draft provided in the seal to get interference fit between the seal and brick cavity. There is a snap locking mechanism between the seal and the cavity, which can be detached using a screwdriver. Apart from this there is no modification in brick design and only a minor change in cavity design which may also makes this design simpler and economically sound.
The brick and Brick Cavity material is same as proposed by GE.
And in this design the material of Seal may be used as HMS5 or HMSA10 (optimized Nitrile rubber).
For Gasket , Solid sheet silicon rubber is proposed.
Material specification
1- Brick : Urethane (same as proposed by GE)
2- Cavity : Injection molded plastic (same as proposed by GE)
3- Gasket : solid sheet silicone rubber and flourosilicone (having high temperature operating range and water resistant )
4- Seal : HMS5/HMSA10 (these are optimized Nitrile rubber, capable of bearing temperature range of -40 to 100 degC, and can bear 5 bar . pressure)
