Added a degree of freedom to the end of a robotic element by producing a bolt on servo driven belt drive.
The unit is used to monitor and position an end effector on a long arm. A servo motor is coupled with a tensioner, a rotary dampener, and a clamp on quick-disconnect pulley to rotate the spindle assembly.
The spindle is mounted through two tapered bearings in a milled bearing block via a turned collar and a bearing nut. The spindle is hollow to allow for passage of wire, tube, etc...
