This is a work in process of a concept that Convair studied. I saw the drawings in a book I have, "Convair Advance Designs II", and couldn't resist making something from them.
In this concept the duct pivots from vertical to horizontal while the crew and engine pods remain horizontal.
The original work was all done in Rhino3D. I still have a lot of work to do plus creating texture maps to create a decent rendering.
