FROST N’ DRAW
An easy, lightweight, electronic frosting pen to make every day decorating more detailed and enjoyable!
Purpose and Overview:
With an estimated 1 baker per household within the United States, there are approximately 125 million people who bake in the U.S alone. In comparison, the use of frosting devices and such baking tools are necessary to make the process of decorating baked goods effortless while still being detailed with frosting. Part of the problem with today's frosting devices is the size, shape, and design. Most products on the market are too large to maintain a steady hand and the shape of the tools are so uncomfortable to the consumer it's a hassle to get anything done. Most frosting is in tubes or bags that need the force of the baker squeezing in order to get everything out; Sometimes this can be physically painful and annoying as squeezing the device may cause air bubbles which results in the ruining of a so detailed design. In some cases, adults can also experience arthritis sooner when there is stressed or pressure applied on their hands by other frosting devices. Research has shown that 40 million people within the U.S have arthritis. This proposed design is called Frost N’ Draw. The electronic pen enables one to frost or decorate with ease as the frosting is pushed through the tube by an auger as force is applied to the button. It is composed of several parts which include, changeable frosting tips for any design, the frosting tube, an auger, a battery operated motor and the overall body of the product. Every part is able to be removed from one another to make the process of cleaning the device simple. In having this device be operated by a motor allows for the consumer to press the button on the side, resulting in the substance to come out the end of the tube. This is beneficial because there is no strain put on the consumer's hand at all and the results on the object are more accurate and elaborate. This ergonomic design improves the typical decorating tool providing edible masterpieces while being in the safe comforts of one's home.
