...ダンガードa (太空保衛者) 3dwarehouse 1972年の『マジンガーz』以来、『グレートマジンガー』・『ufoロボ グレンダイザー』とロボットアニメブームを牽引し続けてきた永井豪とダイナミック・プロに代わり、新たに松本零士をイメージクリエイターとして迎えた作品。テレビアニメの放映と並行して、月刊漫画誌『冒険王』（秋田書店）に松本による漫画版も連載された。全56話の平均視聴率は17.1%（最高視聴率は、第36話「火星に進路をとれ！」の22.6％。ビデオリサーチ関東地区調べ）。 松本零士のアニメ作品としては唯一の巨大ロボットアニメである。だが、当の松本自身は巨大かつ擬人的な変形合体ロボットものがあまり好きではなくむしろ嫌っている節も見られ、自身の漫画『宇宙海賊キャプテンハーロック』作中でヤッタラン副長に当時のロボットアニメを揶揄・批判するかのようなセリフを言わせている。 アニメ本編ではダンガードaに変形するサテライザーは第4話から登場するものの組立工程や合体訓練という形に限定され、ロボット形態での活躍はタクマが正パイロットに任命される第12話からとなった1]。 また主人公タクマへ「訓練」の名の下に鬼のようなスパルタ教育を施す教官キャプテン・ダンとの関係がしばしばロボットアニメ版『巨人の星』とも評された。中盤以降はダンの死によりスポ根的な要素が払拭され、前後に登場していた美形のライバルであるトニー・ハーケンとタクマの対決を軸として、荒木伸吾と姫野美智による美麗なキャラクター人気がロボットバトルより先行するようになっていく。なおこの交代劇は、幼児視聴者からの「キャプテン・ダンの仮面が怖い」との抗議が殺到したことに端を発した結果であり、商業的に成功に至るターニングポイントだった。 本作の中盤ではスタッフが変動しており野田卓雄は同じ東映動画作品『アローエンブレム グランプリの鷹』の参加で降板し、同じく金田伊功もスタジオno.1を退社し、スタジオz第25話、第36話を担当した後、降板している。 ＃robot#hong...
